DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections Food Service Supervisor, you will perform supervisory work over large-scale food preparation and food serving area on an assigned shift in a correctional institution. Your responsibilities will involve supervising, coordinating, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed in preparation, production, serving, baking, meat cutting, and sanitation. This includes supervising Food Service personnel and maintaining order and discipline among inmate workers, as well as ensuring compliance with established safety and sanitation standards. You will also establish work procedures, schedule work and allocate staff to meet time requirements, and maintain records and reports relating to menu, recipes, orders, requisitions, inventory, food service personnel, and inmate help.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Shift assignment will be determined. 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM or 4:30 AM - 12:30 PM, with rotating schedule and days off.
- This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Corrections Food Service Instructor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation, which included one year of lead work experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which included one year of lead work experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
