THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will provide leadership, supervision, and direction to a clerical unit and provide training and orientation to staff as needed. You will evaluate, monitor, and guide employees to ensure they provide accurate and efficient support to staff. You will process assistance benefits using a personal computer and assign work to subordinates in a fair and equitable manner. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to the executive director. You will use your working knowledge of office equipment and arrange for service calls when needed. You will also plan and approve leave requests for subordinates while ensuring adequate coverage in the area to maintain an efficient workflow.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time after the completion of the probationary period. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Castle, PA. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $40,685.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lawrence County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lawrence County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
