THE POSITION
The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Residential Services Worker who is ready to inspire growth and support for individuals at the Selinsgrove Center. You will help shape meaningful routines and promote important skills for the people you serve. Your work helps individuals build confidence and achieve important milestones. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on planning, delivering, and reviewing daily residential services that support each individual’s goals and needs. You help guide staff, monitor progress, and coordinate important program activities. As a Residential Services Worker, you will perform the following duties:
- Program Support: Participate in team discussions to share input that helps shape individualized active treatment plans
- Plan Implementation: Carry out residential program steps by completing assessments, preparing reports, training staff, and monitoring service quality
- Incident Prevention: Assist in identifying causes of incidents and recommend steps that help prevent them in assigned living areas
- Staff Guidance: Direct Residential Services Aides by organizing daily tasks, reviewing work, and supporting consistent performance
- Record Management: Review documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance and report findings to supervisory staff
- Skill Development: Support staff in building abilities needed to deliver residential training and supports effectively
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 2nd shift (1:00 PM to 9:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work alternate shifts as needed.
- Overtime and travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of paid experience performing direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with a developmental disability; or
- A bachelor's degree in the behavioral sciences, psychology, social work, education, or nursing; or
- One year of paid experience performing direct care and habilitative program services for individuals with a developmental disability; and a bachelors degree; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
