THE POSITION
The Department of Conservation & Natural Resources is seeking a full-time Park Maintenance Worker to join the maintenance team at Marsh Creek, located within French Creek State Park Complex. This position reports directly to the Park Maintenance Supervisor, who provides scheduling, training, evaluation, and daily guidance. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a wide range of general maintenance duties that involve operating vehicles and equipment, using hand and power tools, and lifting or moving objects up to 60 pounds. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will help maintain the park’s grounds, facilities, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for visitors.
Primary Responsibilities- Mow, trim, clear brush, remove litter, clean fire rings, and maintain trails.
- Assist with seeding, turf work, and planting or caring for trees and shrubs.
- Apply pesticides/herbicides under supervision.
- Clean and supply restrooms, cabins, offices, and other buildings; perform minor repairs.
- Assist skilled staff with water, sewage, pool systems, and basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and cement work.
- Help maintain vehicles and equipment through routine servicing.
- Follow all safety regulations, report hazards, and use equipment properly.
- Paint or stain buildings, signs, and gates.
- Provide friendly assistance to park visitors and maintain knowledge of park rules.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until October 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
- Work shifts/days vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hrs per week to include weekends and holidays if needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license that is not under suspension.
