DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on supporting residents by meeting their basic health care needs and helping them build skills for greater independence. As a Nurse Aide, you will perform the following duties:
- Direct Care Support: Assist residents with hygiene, comfort, and daily needs to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Rehabilitation Assistance: Support restorative programs that help residents reach their highest level of independence
- Communication Skills: Use therapeutic communication and respond to crises while acting as an advocate for residents
- Care Planning Input: Contribute to treatment discussions and help maintain an orderly and sanitary living space
- Daily Living Guidance: Teach and assist residents with tasks such as making beds, caring for belongings, and healthy eating habits
- Status Reporting: Report changes in resident condition or environment to supervisors to maintain consistent care

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM (2nd shift), with a 30-minute lunch or 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3rd shift), with no lunch. You will have rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry; or
- Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.
Special Requirement:
- This position is assigned to a long-term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
