DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position provides essential clerical support for the Human Resource Office and assigned program areas at the Southeastern Veterans Center. The work helps maintain accurate records, organized files, and efficient daily operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Document Preparation: Type letters, reports, and communication materials and proofread them for accuracy and consistency
- File Management: Organize personnel files, maintain HR filing systems, and purge documents according to policy
- Record Tracking: Log disciplinary packets, track grievance files, and update training and attendance records
- Visitor Assistance: Greet visitors, answer calls, route messages, and complete copying, faxing, and mailing tasks
- Training Processing: Handle out-service training requests and update employee training records
- Supply Coordination: Determine office supply needs and prepare requisitions for necessary items

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Previous experience performing clerical duties.
- Previous experience working in Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience working in SAP or SRM entering shopping carts/work orders.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
