Kentucky State Police is the premier, full-service law enforcement agency in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Polygraph Section for the Kentucky State Police is responsible for administering polygraph examinations to applicants of the Kentucky State Police and, as needed, providing support to criminal investigations and internal administrative procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Must complete two years (54 semester hours) from a college or university.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in active military duty or as a Kentucky Polygraph Examiner or as a sworn law enforcement officer will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must possess a certificate of graduation from a school accredited by the American Polygraph Association. Kentucky Revised Statutes - Chapter 329 Must obtain required Kentucky Polygraph license within thirty days of employment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting. May require travel throughout the state.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 12 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
