The Bowling Green Veterans Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Veterans. Our mission is to Serve Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.
The Mechanical Maintenance and Operations Tech II is responsible for the preventative maintenance, repair, operation, installation and replacement of boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, electrical and plumbing inside the Bowling Green Veterans Center. This position will also maintain equipment related records, work orders, purchase orders, maintenance history and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of experience in the maintenance or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, or electrical systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

- Mechanical Trades Experience such as Plumbing, Electrical or HVAC.
- Customer service.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- General computer literacy.
