Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have five years of experience in the maintenance and/or repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation equipment or electrical systems.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Formal training in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above or related fields will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be 18 years of age.
Working Conditions
May be required to take care of emergency repairs twenty-four hours a day.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

- Plans, directs and supervises the work of the Maintenance and Operations Section of a 285-bed facility. Approves time and attendance and conducts performance performs appraisals on employees in the maintenance section.
- Inspects, checks work of employees performing mechanical maintenance, HVAC and electrical work.
- Supervises special installations, inspections or repairs of Mechanical equipment.
- Recommends improvements in maintenance and operating techniques.
- Performs inventories and maintains property control records.
- Consults with management and provides advice concerning operations.
