Description
The Kentucky Horse Park is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Park Worker II in the Maintenance Department at the Park. This is a swing shift position and will be required to work some second shift hours. Located within minutes of downtown Lexington, the Kentucky Horse Park is a 1,224- acre working horse farm, equine theme park, and internationally renowned equine competition facility. Founded in 1978, the Park is owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and attracts more than 800,000 visitors from around the world annually. The Park also boasts a 260-site campground and is home to the International Museum of the Horse, a Smithsonian affiliate.
This is a swing shift/second shift position
The ideal candidate will be a hard worker, acts as lead and performs tasks and duties in the operation, maintenance and repair of the facilities and grounds of The Kentucky Horse Park.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following
- Work second shift position from approximately May 1 to October 1. During this time will act as lead overnight muck removal and would supervise temporary staff and Park Worker I position.
- This position will perform a variety of semi-skilled duties in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the physical plant facilities and grounds of a state park and other related areas.
- Will assist with running equipment, helping with snow and ice removal, mucking, mowing, bush hogging, backhoe operations and assisting the park in daily operations.
- Responsible for helping to maintain the grounds in the collection of trash; replacing fence boards, assisting with painting, blowing and sweeping sidewalks.
- Operate equipment associated with the above duties and instructing subordinate employees and temporary employees on safe use.
- This position will assist other departments as needed in maintaining the facilities and in preparation for event needs.
