Glasgow State Nursing Facility (GSNF) may be the place for you. We are a state-of-the-art 100-bed long-term care nursing facility for individuals with mental illness or intellectual disabilities. We are seeking a Food Service Operations Manager for our Dietary Department to join our team in caring and improving the daily lives of our residents.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree with courses in food preparation, food management or a related area.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of experience in the operation and management of institutional, military or commercial food service operations.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): If employed in the Kentucky Department of Parks or the Kentucky Horse Park, must be twenty years and one day of age at time of appointment. If employed in the Kentucky Department of Parks or the Kentucky Horse Park, must obtain S.T.A.R. (Server Training in Alcohol Regulations) certification from the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control within six months of appointment. Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possesses and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Probationary Period

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Plan, organize and manages the food service operation of Glasgow State Nursing Facility
- Directs and supervises staff in the preparation and serving of food/nutrition services as physician ordered according to applicable standards and policies.
- Ensure resident food orders are accurately transcribed, communicated and assigned for distribution in a timely manner.
- Ensures oversight and management of kitchen duties including records, reports, food and supply orders, storing, food prep., sanitation of kitchen area and equipment, inventory, requisitions and repair requests.
- Ensures each resident receives three meals daily at assigned times. Meals are served in a form that meets resident needs with respect to ethnic and resident preference.
- Ensures variety and quality of menu items, prepare menus, develops methods and procedures for food preparation, service, sanitation, enlists staff input and develops teamwork.
- Works with Registered Dietitian and staff to ensure policy and procedure compliance according to applicable standards and regulations of resident therapeutic diets, parenteral and enteral orders.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Certified Dietary Manager Certification.
- Supervisory Skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with professionalism.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer skills.
