The Division of Probation and Parole (P&P) is hiring for a Classification & Treatment Officer. This position will require excellent communication and data entry skills. Responsible for evaluating, and assessing offenders, eligibility for the Home Incarceration Program that are in county jails. The position will review weekly lists of offenders for possible HIP eligibility, coordinate the transfer of eligible HIP offenders from jails and institutions to the Home Incarceration Program and communicate with P&P staff, Jail staff, and Supervisors to coordinate the completion of required work.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in corrections, law enforcement, or a related field will substitute for the education on a year for year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required education on a year for year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting within a correctional institution.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.

- Review KOMS, Courtnet, and e-Warrants for possible eligibility.
- Communicate with jail staff, and P&P staff daily as needed.
- Maintaining daily spreadsheets.
- Sending information to and receiving information from jail staff concerning offender HIP eligibility.
- Answering phone calls.
- Maintain all Policies and Procedure requirements for the KY Dept. of Corrections.
- Complete and maintain required training associated with job duties.
- Non-Hazardous.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- The ability to multitask and be able to prioritize multiple assignments.
- The ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Familiar with Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to think critically and analyze data to forecast positive outcomes.
- A positive and helpful attitude to support the district and division as a whole.
- The ability to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the Department and Division.
