By joining our District 12 Engineering Support Branch in the Permits Section as an Administrative Specialist in Pike County, you’ll have the opportunity to provide professional administrative support to the Transportation Engineering Supervisor and Permit Inspectors in the Traffic Engineering & Permits Section of Engineering Support Branch.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

- Provide professional administrative support to the Transportation Engineering Supervisor and Permits Inspectors in the Branch.
- Prepare correspondence.
- Maintain permit files.
- Answer telephone. Monitor requested responses to the public and others as needed.
- Compile responses to open records requests.
- Required to have a minimum of one year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Be a team player, self-motivated, strive for quality results, take pride in their accomplishments and have a desire to advance in their personal development.
- The ideal candidate should possess a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and an advanced computer skillset.
- Experience with answering trouble calls, monitoring incoming and outgoing mail, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
