Responsibilities
Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on the knowledge and skills of our supervisors to support the lab team. Our labs are vital to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. It is our lab supervisors that will partner with management to ensure that our patients receive the best possible experience. What you will do:
- Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel
- Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and administers lab inventories
- Analyzes and interprets lab results in accordance with laboratory work processes
- Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results
- Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics
- Enrollment and participation in an HHS approved proficiency testing program
- Establishing a quality control program appropriate for the testing, establishing the parameters for acceptable levels of performance, and ensuring that these levels are maintained throughout the testing process
- Resolving technical problems and ensuring that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from performance specifications
- Ensuring that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken and the test system is functioning properly
- Identifying training needs and assuring that each individual performing tests receives appropriate regular in-service training and education
Qualify and function as the CLIA defined Technical Consultant, evaluate the competency of all testing personnel, and assure that the staff maintain their competency
Qualifications
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA
- Minimum 5 years experience in a moderate to high complexity lab
- Preferred: 1 or more years supervisory experience
- ASCP certification in MT or MLS or CLS
