As our Supervisor, EMS, you will oversee daily shift operations, manage staffing needs, address emerging issues, and ensure high-quality patient care. You will operate under the guidelines of local and state regulatory bodies, as well as directives from the Medical Director and departmental leadership. You will also provide pre-hospital care following the approved treatment protocols.Every day, you will coordinate with team members to maintain efficient workflows, respond promptly to operational challenges, and uphold compliance with established standards. You will promote open communication among staff, monitor performance, and lead by example in delivering patient care.To thrive in this role, you will draw on your deep knowledge of EMS regulations, strong leadership skills, and ability to adapt to fast-paced environments. Your commitment to collaboration and patient-focused care ensures the reliable and effective delivery of emergency services.
- The EMS Supervisor will have and perform all of the Essential Key Job Responsibilities of the Paramedic.
- The EMS Supervisor incorporates knowledge of the Emergency Medical Services process and the professional standards of EMS into their daily practice.
- The EMS Supervisor manages both clinical and non-clinical activities during work shift.
- The EMS Supervisor will supervise all unit activities for the smooth operation in the absence of the Operations Manager and the Director.
- The EMS supervise and review daily staffing and required paperwork as directed by the Operations Manager.
- The EMS Supervisor collaborates with the needs of the EMS Dispatch Center as directed by the Operations Manager.
Job Requirements
Required
- Sys/Div/Mkt/Local Supervisor – Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years’ experience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree and no experience and
- High School Graduate For Staff Job Levels or
- High School GED For Staff Job Levels and
- Associates Degree in EMS or similar field of study or higher and
- Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: TN, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
- Driver's License: TN, upon hire and
Preferred
- American College of Emergency Physicians – ITLS and
- National Association of EMTs – PHTLS and
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Course and
- Certified Emergency Vehicle Operator - CEVO and
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire and
- Emergency Pediatric Care, upon hire and
- Pediatric Education for Pre-Hospital Professionals, upon hire and
