Job Summary and Responsibilities

At Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center (MGMC), we deliver humankindness through a wide range of health social and support services in the heart of Gilbert Arizona.  As part of our team you will provide clinical expertise support and oversight that helps ensure our patients receive exceptional care.  As a member of our team you will have the opportunity to champion the change by joining in our mission of healing through humankindness. The Sterile Processing Tech Lead will provide excellent service to the patients of the Central Sterile Processing and Surgery Departments, the physicians, fellow employees and hospital staff. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Ensures staff follows all infection control policies.
• Decontaminates surgical instruments, power equipment and other medical devices.
• Knowledge and use of sterilizers - ultrasonic, Washers, Cart Washer, and high level disinfection.
• Coordinates sterilizing schedule to meet the instrumentation needs of all ORs and clinics.
• Ability to sort, identify and process instrumentation on a priority basis.
• Works as relief lead in Supervisor's absence.

Job Requirements

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED 

• 3 years surgical instrument experience 

• One of the following certifications: CRCST, CSPDS, CSPDT or CSPDT-CBSPD 

Preferred:

• Completion of a surgical instrument technician program
