As our Sterile Processing Tech at CHI St Vincent Infirmary, you’ll help our team oversee the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments or supplies in a sterile processing environment.
To be a successful sterile processing technician, you should be meticulous with strong attention to detail. You should have a good working knowledge of a variety of sterilization techniques and be able to work with fragile equipment.*

$18.06 - $25.51 /hour
As our Sterile Processing Tech at CHI St Vincent Infirmary, you’ll help our team oversee the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments or supplies in a sterile processing environment.
To be a successful sterile processing technician, you should be meticulous with strong attention to detail. You should have a good working knowledge of a variety of sterilization techniques and be able to work with fragile equipment.*
- Monitor and operate sterilization equipment
- Examine supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Test and report any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment
- Sterilize, prepare, wrap and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures
- Prepare and deliver all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures and medical carts
- Maintain records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance and supplies
- Job Requirements*Required
- High School Graduate general studies and Two years experience in a Sterile Processing Department, upon hire or
- High School GED general studies and Two years experience in a Sterile Processing Department, upon hire or
- Other Metropolitan test or equivalent and Two years experience in a Sterile Processing Department, upon hire and
- Two years dealing directly with instrumentation and
- Experience with inventory control, tracking systems, purchasing, and use of computers, decontamination, and sterilization systems.
- Certified and Registered Central Service Technician, upon hire or
- Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor, upon hire or
- Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech, upon hire or
- Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech, upon hire
