Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist, you will help patients regain independence and quality of life so they can safely perform daily activities.Every day you will assess diverse patients (orthopedic, neurological, sensory, cancer recovery, etc.), develop treatment plans, and conduct evaluations/re-evaluations. You will be expected to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, document thoroughly, and provide positive, motivating care to a high volume of patients.To be successful in this role, you must be flexible, adaptable, exceptionally organized, and a personable, motivating team player.
- Maintain customer focus with all patient, consumer, health care provider and payor interactions. Behaviors demonstrating this focus include total sensitivity and complete responsiveness.
- During all phases of treatment, involve patient and/or family in goal setting, education and discharge planning.
- Use evaluation techniques appropriate to patient's age and condition. Complete written evaluation or dictations within 48 hours of visit.
- Develop individualized treatment plans with these components: procedures to be used, treatment objectives, frequency and duration, long and short term goals, rehabilitation potential.
- For each patient visit, using brief SOAP notes, document objective and measurable treatment outcomes. Reassess patient progress on a weekly basis. Routine daily treatments may be logged in treatment record forms with weekly summary.
- When discharging or transferring patients, provide specific written instructions for the next level of treatment.
Job Requirements
Required
- Bachelors Other From a school ofOccupational Therapy approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association in collaboration with the AmericanOccupational Therapy Association. and Experience in physical disabilities in a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting., upon hire and
- Occupational Therapist: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association)
Preferred
- Masters Other From a school ofOccupational Therapy approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association incollaboration with the AmericanOccupational Therapy Association. and Two years of experiencein physical disabilities in a hospital orskilled nursing facility setting., upon hire
