Nursing Technician

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

Nurse techs (NT) are vital, unlicensed healthcare providers offering direct patient care under an RN's supervision. They apply developmental knowledge to tailor care to patients' evolving physical and psychosocial needs.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Operating various equipment: computers, vital sign machines (recognizing and reporting abnormalities), O2 saturation monitors, glucose meters, intercoms, telephones, scales, and lifts.
• Performing basic EKG monitoring and recognizing life-threatening dysrhythmias (as required by location).
• Executing nursing duties delegated by RNs.
• Venipuncture and discontinuing IVs.
• Performing 12-lead EKGs (as required).
• Demonstrating strong communication, telephone, and customer service skills.
• Adapting to new healthcare technology.
• Accessing secured supply rooms for necessary equipment.

High School graduate or equivalent. Currenly enrolled Nursing student (RN or LPN)
