As our Wound Care Nurse, you will specialize in comprehensive wound and ostomy care. You will elevate care quality, optimize patient outcomes, and ensure cost-effective management.
Every day you will provide expert consultation and direct care for complex wounds. You'll assess, plan, and evaluate individualized care, educate patients/staff on best practices, monitor outcomes, and ensure protocol adherence.

Mercy Medical Center Redding offers comprehensive health care to nearly 300,000 residents in a six-county region. It is one of only two Level II trauma centers, the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the only Joint Commission-certified Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center north of Sacramento north of Sacramento. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a 266-bed regional medical center providing inpatient and outpatient services as well as specialized cardiovascular care, stroke care, orthopedics, neurological surgery, comprehensive cancer care, maternity care, and a robust robotic surgery program. - Performs routine physical/psychosocial assessment to collect basic data, follows the written plan of care, standards, practice guidelines and utilizes pathways
- Formulates a plan of care for individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs which includes treatment options and patient placement options
- Adapts planned educational programs and information to individual patients and family by modifying teaching strategies or content. Integrates education during the delivery of patient care
- Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care to determine immediate priorities and to offer solutions for problems
- Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience
- Actively advocates for patient rights and identifies potential conflict. Seeks counsel for resolution of conflict
- Associate Of Nursing, upon hire or
- Recent, 1-year wound care nurse experience
- Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
- Certified Wound Care Nurse
- Bachelors Of Nursing, upon hire
- Recent, 3-years wound care nurse experience
