Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.- Consistently, accurately & timely: transcribes physician orders. 100% accuracy is the goal.
- Correctly transcribes orders in EHR system, and signs off orders per FHMC policy
- Correctly transcribes orders during downtime procedures.
- Notifies appropriate staff of medication and treatment orders.
- Consistently, accurately & timely: places patient stickers on patient charts, faxes orders to pharmacy, sends charts to medical records after discharge & adds chart forms as needed.
- Consistently, accurately & timely: files chart forms, duplicates medical records as needed, orders supplies & initiates follow-through with maintenance requests
Job Requirements
Required- Successful completion of Emergency Medical Technician program, upon hire
- Acute care and clinical secretary experience.
- Completion of approved Unit Clerk class or equivalent, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire or
- Emergency Medical Technician: CA, upon hire or
- Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic: CA, upon hire
