What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinician - Behavioral Health Urgent Care position at Common Ground?

MICHIGAN RESIDENTS ONLY - Must be a fully-licensed clinician in the State of Michigan
Position Available
1) Part-Time, 20 hours per week. Current shift is 10:30 am - 8:30 pm, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday. 
 
Compensation: $30.00 - $33.00 per hour. 

 

About You 
The Clinician’s role is to provide assessments that focus on meeting the needs of all populations in crisis, emphasizing alternatives to emergency rooms and continued support. The Clinician is an at-will position, reporting to the Program Manager of the BHUC. This position will demonstrate an advanced level of clinical knowledge, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration that will work with individuals and families/caregivers who are experiencing behavioral health crises. Emphasis will be placed on the provision of problem-focused, time-limited psychotherapy in conjunction with other mental health professionals. The BHUC Clinician will provide care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations, institutional policy, and practice agreements.

Day in the Life 
  • Provide triage and assessment in Virtual BHUC that include collateral contacts with Core Provider Agency and other people who know the individual well and who are involve in his/her life; crisis interventions and assessments are trauma informed and recovery-oriented
  • Assess crisis and person/family’s needs to determine service needed
  • Develop the plan of care in collaboration with the individual/family and is based on strengths, needs, abilities, and consideration of preferences, etc.
  • Document all required and collected information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) using Collaborative Documentation with persons served
  • Act as an advocate for the needs and rights of every person/family including service providers and community agents
  • Complete mental health assessment and recommend plan of care for private/public insurance contracted with BHUC
  • Make referrals to community resources
  • Work closely with other Common Ground programs, providers, core provider network, area emergency departments, and the access system
  • Provide feedback in clinical and diagnostic matters to management staff

 

What you need to apply 
  • Master’s Degree in Human Service field
  • Professional licensure in the State of Michigan as a Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW), License Professional Counselors (LPC), or Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in treating or working with disabilities
  • Preferred Certification of one of the following:
    • CAADC          Certified Advanced Addiction Drug Counselor
    • CAC-R           Certified Addiction Counselor IC&RC Reciprocal
    • CCDP            Certified Co-occurring Disorder Professional
    • CCDP-D        Certified Co-occurring Disorder Professional Diplomat
  • Experience providing crisis intervention and counseling services
  • Experience with broad range of age groups and disabilities, including children
  • Experience with persons with co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder
  • Standard met for Mental Health Professional and Child Mental Health Professional
