The Publishing Production Assistant will provide operational support for the peer review management process across the organization’s publishing program. This role requires high attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. The position is part-time with flexible scheduling, offering the opportunity to gain experience in academic publishing and editorial production.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the peer review workflow for assigned manuscripts, ensuring timely communication between authors, editors, and reviewers.
- Monitor manuscript progress and provide reminders to reviewers and editors in accordance with established timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of peer review activities within the publishing platform.
- Provide general administrative assistance as required to support publishing operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in publishing, communications, English, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in academic publishing, editorial coordination, or project management preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written communication and professional correspondence skills.
- Proficiency in publishing platforms, databases, or content management systems (training provided).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
