Porter [DTLA]

Position Summary:

The Porter performs routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment in our DTLA properties. This position is covered under applicable California wage and hour laws, including meal and rest breaks, overtime provisions, and safe workplace requirements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dust furniture and equipment.

• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.

• Sweep, scrub, finish, and polish floors.

• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.

• Polish metal fixtures and surfaces.

• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills.

• Empty trash receptacles and ashtrays; clean and disinfect as necessary.

• Safely transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.

• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning agents and chemicals.

• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Employees in this position may be exposed to:

• Cleaning chemicals and fumes

• Wet or slippery floors

• Loud or moderate noise levels

• Varying indoor and outdoor temperatures

This job typically involves working in environments such as offices, commercial buildings, restrooms, stairwells, and hallways.

Physical Demands:

To perform the essential duties of this job, an individual must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.

• Frequently use hands to handle or operate equipment.

• Regularly reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

• Occasionally climb stairs or ladders.

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely.

• Use vision for close and distance focus and to adjust focus as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience: No prior experience or formal training required. On-the-job training will be provided.

• Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, memos, and safety information. (English)

Employment Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Must comply with all state and federal workplace safety regulations, including Cal/OSHA requirements.

• May be subject to background checks and/or health screenings as permitted by California law.
