As we expand our footprint through key retail partnerships like Sephora North America, we’re looking for a dynamic Trade Marketing/Marketing Coordinator to help bring our brand to life at retail and drive performance across all touch points.
Position Overview:
The Design Director is a senior creative leadership role reporting to the Head of Creative and serving as the second most senior member of the team, responsible for helping shape and execute the brand’s creative vision through a design-led approach. This role leads the development of high-impact creative across campaigns, product launches, digital, retail, e-commerce, and packaging, while evolving the brand’s visual identity to be more elevated, distinctive, and culturally relevant. The Design Director provides both strategic direction and hands-on creative leadership, mentors the design team, art directs photo and video content, and partners cross-functionally to ensure consistency, innovation, and excellence across all brand touchpoints.
Responsibilities:
- Champion and help define a design-led approach to the brand, elevating creative output and ensuring design is a primary driver of brand differentiation and growth
- Lead the development of high-impact, design-forward creative across campaigns, product launches, and key brand initiatives
- Define and evolve the brand’s visual language from approachable to aspirational, pushing for a distinctive, elevated, and culturally relevant point of view within the fragrance space
- Bring a strong, experienced design perspective that raises the bar across typography, layout, imagery, and overall visual storytelling
- Partner closely with the Head of Brand Creative to shape and execute the long-term creative vision, with a focus on advancing the brand through design excellence
- Help oversee, mentor, and inspire the design team, setting a high standard for craft and guiding the team toward more boundary-pushing work
- Provide clear, actionable creative direction and feedback that pushes ideas further and avoids safe or expected solutions
- Concept and art direct photoshoots and video content, with a strong understanding of how motion and imagery support a design-led system
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all brand touchpoints, including digital, social, e-commerce, retail, and packaging
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and external partners to advocate for and uphold a design-first mindset
- Play a deeply hands-on role in the day-to-day design work, leading through execution and elevating output through direct contribution
- Stay deeply attuned to design, fashion, and cultural trends, bringing in references and ideas that continuously push the brand forward
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred.
- 8 years of progressive experience in creative and design, including experience in a senior-level or leadership role.
- Proven experience developing and executing creative across campaigns, digital, social, e-commerce, packaging, and retail.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in design, typography, art direction, and visual storytelling.
- Experience building or evolving brand identities and maintaining cohesive design systems across channels.
- Demonstrated experience leading creative projects from concept through execution.
- Experience mentoring designers and providing clear creative direction and feedback.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of photography, content production, and art direction for still and motion.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining highly hands-on in execution.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience in beauty, fragrance, fashion, or luxury consumer brands preferred.
The expected base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and employee perks/discounts.
