As Vice President of Finance at CommLoan, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function, maintaining robust financial controls, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. You'll play a key role in supporting strategic decisions, managing risk, and helping drive CommLoan’s continued growth. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of accounting operations including general ledger, A/R, A/P, revenue recognition, and financial reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Design and implement internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
- Partner with the CEO on forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning initiatives
- Manage audits, tax filings, and all regulatory compliance (federal, state, and local)
- Oversee cash flow management and working capital optimization
- Drive automation and efficiency by improving financial systems and leveraging technology
- Support strategic initiatives including investor reporting, fundraising, and M&A due diligence
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a VP of Finance or equivalent role
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Hands-on experience with financial systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup or growth-stage environment
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- CPA or MBA
- Background in fintech, SaaS, or financial services
- Experience with venture-backed startups
- Public accounting experience (Big 4 or similar)
