COTS is hiring full-time Family Supportive Housing Advocates to join our Housing Services team. In this vital role, you’ll work directly with families, identifying their immediate needs and developing strategies for achieving long-term housing stability.
Position Details:
- FullTime: 9 am5 pm, MondayFriday
- Pay: $25.43 $26.98

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, including regular meetings.
- Support clients in completing paperwork to maintain housing assistance.
- Collaborate with clients to create personalized budget plans.
- Stay up to date on community, state, and federal resources to help support clients' housing stability. Advocate for and assist clients in seeking appropriate services.
- Provide training and referrals related to financial literacy, life skills, and tenant responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working with families and children. Experience with home visits preferred
- Experience with or willingness to learn deescalation and conflict resolution.
- Ability to support individuals facing mental health challenges, medical issues, substance use, and employment barriers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A background in case management is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with housing resources, including subsidies and affordable housing systems, is preferred.
- Must hold a valid VT driver’s license
- Bachelor’s degree in education, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field. OR Four Years of professional experience in a related field.
