Mid UI/UX Designer

Overview

CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Mid UI/UX Designer with demonstrated expertise supporting projects for the Department of Defense (DoD). This position can be remote and will be responsible for providing UI and User Experience expertise throughout the product lifecycle supporting new feature development and refinement of existing capabilities.

The Mid UI/UX Designer must have an excellent understanding of, and experience in UI and UX design principles, familiarity with web standards and accessibility, and finally capable of using industry standard design software. Additionally, this role will work with program stakeholders, internal and external, to understand user requirements but also work directly with developers to analyze solutions for feasibility and work to develop compromises that are actionable both technically and functionally.

Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCCS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. Responsibilities

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to-

• Collaborate closely with the product team to design mockups, wireframes, and end-to-end user flows for both new features and enhancements to existing system capabilities.
• Facilitate workshops and working sessions with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements, validate concepts, and refine user experience solutions.
• Translate stakeholder needs and product requirements into intuitive, visually polished design artifacts such as user journeys, interaction flows, and prototypes.
• Develop and maintain system-level documentation, including architectural diagrams, conceptual models, and other visual communication assets to support product understanding.
• Partner with front-end developers to ensure design feasibility, consistency, and accurate implementation across all applications.
• Create and maintain a UX backlog for already-built applications, identifying opportunities for alignment, improvements, and design standardization without disrupting active development.
• Contribute to the evolution and governance of design standards, component patterns, and cross-application UI guidelines.
• Conduct user research and usability validation (when needed) to ensure designs meet user needs and business goals.
• Communicate design rationale clearly to diverse audiences, including executives, technical teams, and customers.
  
  

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Experience with C2, ABM, or other similar DOD systems
• Thorough understanding of both UX principles and concepts
• Three (3) years of professional experience working directly with developers to refine mock ups, wire frames, and user flows
• Experience with Office Products, Figma, Adobe, Photoshop (or other alternatives)
