Diesel / Heavy Equipment Technician
Location: Mobile / Field-Based
Pay: $30–$42 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with alternating start times
Work Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Alternating start schedule:
- Early shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Late shift: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM
What You Will Do
- Lead advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, including CAN bus and ECMs, as well as medium- and light-duty equipment.
- Perform engine overhauls, rebuilds, and complex repairs with precision and efficiency.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals to accurately troubleshoot issues.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing detailed diagnostics and service recommendations.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel and gas engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving engines, transmissions, brakes, and related components.
- Use power tools and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble diesel and gas engines.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on diesel and gas engines.
- Ability to suspend and support heavy equipment using appropriate lifting devices.
- Proficiency with power tools and specialized diagnostic and repair equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
- Advanced automotive and equipment diagnostic skills.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance.
- CDL Class A or B preferred.
Qualifications / What You Will Bring
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience required; 5–10 years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, and hydraulic systems preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to supply a complete set of professional-grade tools.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a company vehicle (mobile role).
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
