Diesel / Heavy Equipment Technician

Location: Mobile / Field-Based
Pay: $30–$42 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with alternating start times

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• Alternating start schedule:
• Early shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Late shift: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM

What You Will Do

• Lead advanced diagnostics and repairs on heavy-duty diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems, including CAN bus and ECMs, as well as medium- and light-duty equipment.
• Perform engine overhauls, rebuilds, and complex repairs with precision and efficiency.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals to accurately troubleshoot issues.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, providing detailed diagnostics and service recommendations.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel and gas engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving engines, transmissions, brakes, and related components.
• Use power tools and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble diesel and gas engines.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
• Adhere to all safety protocols while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience working on diesel and gas engines.
• Ability to suspend and support heavy equipment using appropriate lifting devices.
• Proficiency with power tools and specialized diagnostic and repair equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
• Advanced automotive and equipment diagnostic skills.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance.
• CDL Class A or B preferred.

Qualifications / What You Will Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience required; 5–10 years of experience in heavy equipment, diesel, and hydraulic systems preferred.
• Expert-level knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to supply a complete set of professional-grade tools.
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a company vehicle (mobile role).
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
