Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, including heavy machinery, construction equipment, and farm machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and longevity of our fleet and equipment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and air brake components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and construction machinery to ensure reliable operation.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently by interpreting schematics and troubleshooting guides; perform repairs on hydraulic systems, suspensions, steering components, and powertrain assemblies.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, air brakes, tires, alignments, HVAC systems, electrical wiring, and other mechanical components.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of complex machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; ensure all work complies with safety regulations and OEM specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership or industrial equipment background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics, welding, soldering, and schematics interpretation.
- Familiarity with construction equipment servicing including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, HVAC systems, suspension systems, brake repair, tire service, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic software for electrical systems and engine troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; experience with OEM parts replacement is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on equipment troubleshooting and repair efficiency.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various outdoor conditions; commitment to safety standards at all times.
