Role Description The Field Safety Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Salt Lake City UT, responsible for promoting a safe work environment across Commercial Tire locations and field operations. This role includes conducting regular safety inspections, job hazard analyses, and site audits to identify risks and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The specialist will develop and deliver safety training, coach team members on safe work practices, and support leaders in implementing corrective actions. Day-to-day activities also include investigating incidents and near-misses, maintaining safety records and reports, coordinating with external safety and regulatory agencies as needed, and collaborating with operations leadership to continuously improve safety culture and performance.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including risk assessment, hazard control, and compliance monitoring.
- Proficiency in Safety Training, including developing materials, conducting classes or toolbox talks, and evaluating training effectiveness.
- Hands-on experience with Accident Investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Ability to communicate clearly with team members at all levels, including writing concise reports and presenting safety information.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally between sites as needed.
- Preferred: Prior experience in automotive, commercial tire, transportation, or industrial environments, and relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, CSP, CHST, or equivalent).
