Network Technician

Network Tech – Tier 1 opportunity in Waco, TX. We have a direct relationship with the manager and can provide qualified candidates for interviews. This is a 6 to 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. Please respond with your resume if you’re interested in the opportunity.

Job Description:

What the team will be doing:

• Network refreshes at all clinics
• Generally, it consists of 1:00 and 10:00 network switches per clinic and up to 25 wireless access points.
• Preliminary surveys before they go in to do the network swap, where the team is going onsite to conduct a full network work audit and physical device location.
• The survey allows them to understand how the network was working before it broke, upgrade it, and then fix it.
• Contractors will go to every site to inspect before they do the installation
• Generally, there will be a 3–4-week lead time from the time of the survey to the installation
• This will allow the clinics to work with their internet provider and cabling contractor to address any additional changes or requirements, including installing new circuits.

Duties:

• Network refreshes at all clinics
• Rack and stack network gear
• Installation of AP's
• Data collection from Phones, PC, data ports and cabling tracing.
• Preliminary surveys before they go in to do the network swap, where the team is going on-site, and conducting a full network work audit and physical device location audit.
• The survey lets them see how the network was working before it broke, upgrade it, and then fix it.

Workday:

• Up to 8 hrs. a day, possibly less during surveys.
• Will cover drivetime and mileage
• Ideally, one site per day, possibly two smaller ones when conducting surveys
• During installation days, we may have longer working hours, but we will not leave until the site is operational.
• The survey will be during clinic hours
• Installation will be after clinic hours
