Key Accountabilities (results expected to achieve):
- Meet or exceed plant goals for press startups, downtime reduction, scrap reduction and press optimization
Key Responsibilities (tasks that you do to achieve the accountabilities):
- Ensures company standards for safety, quality and customer satisfaction are met or exceeded
- Performs press startups and shutdowns following proper procedures.
- Ensure Quality at the Source by reading and understanding all quality work instructions before starting press.
- Verifies press and work cell set up are correct before press is started
- Work with Machine Operators and Quality Team to ensure molded components meet requirements and make appropriate adjustments as needed with accurate documentation
- Follows established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO and company standards
- Monitors running presses, troubleshoots molding process issues to maintain production quality as needed to ensure standard cycle time, scrap rates and quality is met
- Performs basic robot programming
- Sets up and adjusts auxiliary equipment as needed
- Communicate with Supervisor of any issues, need of assistance, completed assignments, ….
- Prompt response when covering bells or alerts for a down press
- Operates forklift, hoist, and overhead crane
- Performs all other assignments as assigned
Qualities for Success:
- 5 years’ experience as a plastic injection Process Technician
- Mold set up experience
- IQMS experience is a plus
- Scientific Molding a plus
- Understanding of mold core sequences
- Gas Assist experience
- Low Pressure Molding experience is a plus
- Problem solver: able to troubleshoot issues independently and escalate when necessary; sense of accountability and sound professional judgement
- Understanding the characteristics of Amorphous and Semi-Crystalline materials
- Self-motivated
- Willingness to help others and be a technical resource
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics
- Dedicated to safety for self and others
- Forklift certificate (ability to receive certificate with company training)
- Highly organized and able to work with and direct others
- Pays close attention to detail and makes accuracy a priority
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Able to lift 55 lbs. up to shoulder height daily on an on-going basis without assistance
- Able to lift 50 lbs. above head occasionally
- Push, pull, bend, twist, and stoop on an on-going basis
- Grip and hold parts and hand tools continuously (8 hours)
- Use miscellaneous hand tools including manual, pneumatic, and powered
- Ability to work with small parts down to a bolt size of ¼” in diameter
- Good hand and wrist dexterity
- Visually inspect all parts
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to handle extremely heavy items with equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and hoist
- Occasionally ascends/descends ladders to work on machinery
- Crawl into tight spaces daily (1-2 hours)

Pay: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
