Description
The Controller will be responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and ensuring compliance with federal banking regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Prepare and present periodic financial reports and risk analysis to senior leadership, including the Board of Directors.
- Create budgets and forecasts.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
- Coordinate and direct budgeting, procurement, investment activities, and financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards, including preparing and filing regulatory, federal, and state reports.
- Coordinate with examiners and auditors and comply with their requests.
- Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
- Responsible for the company general ledger.
- Manage and oversee the Internal Auditor.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in a comparable position, preferably in a financial institution.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
- Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
- Proven experience in financial project management.
- Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel.
- Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
- Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
Working Conditions
- The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
