Duties
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate and assemble metal components.
- Operate power tools, hand tools.
- Measure materials using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication and assembly.
- Perform metal fabrication tasks such as cutting, preparing and assembly
- Use rigging techniques and operate forklifts safely for material handling and positioning on construction sites or within fabrication shops.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams to guide fabrication processes accurately.
- Maintain safety protocols at all times by adhering to site safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in the setup and operation of machinery or machining tools for manufacturing or construction projects.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications.
Qualifications
- Proven construction site experience or alukminum storefront fabrication background with hands-on work in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and mechanical blueprint understanding.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures; basic shop math skills required for precise fabrication.
- Experience operating rigging equipment, forklifts or other heavy machinery is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately while following safety protocols diligently.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks.
- Construction experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards applicable to metal fabrication projects is a plus.
