What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fireproofing Estimator position at Commercial Fireproofing and Acoustical?
CFA is seeking a self-starter to join our team as a remote Fireproofing Estimator. As a member of the team you will play a pivotal role in our mission to provide top-quality fireproofing solutions for commercial projects in the Central Florida area. Your expertise in estimating, and fireproofing will be crucial in ensuring the success and timely completion of our projects.
Some of your job responsibilities will include:
- Estimate and prepare proposals from contract drawings and design build concepts for fireproofing and acoustical systems using the EDGE estimating software
- Layout projects, complete material takeoffs and obtain vendor pricing- Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of CFA products
- Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives- Develop a positive ongoing relationship with existing and new customers, general contractors and end users- Estimate small projects including fixed price service as required
- Grow and maintain business associations and relationships throughout the Fireproofing industry
- Perform basic code research and site visits as needed
- Represent CFA in meetings with customers and stakeholders
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and make recommendations in response to changing conditions and required Change Orders
- Conduct site visit walk throughs for accurate takeoffs and proposals as needed
- Work closely with field Superintendent to timely provide Change Orders and Quotes as needed for active and potential projects
- Any other duties as assignedMust have:
- Previous experience in estimating and project management, specifically in the field of commercial fireproofing
- Strong knowledge of commercial fireproofing techniques, materials, and industry best practices
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to fireproofing is a plus
- Proven ability to prepare accurate cost estimates and manage projects within established budgets
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Since this is a remote position, you must be self-disciplined and able to visit job sites and meet with GC’s and customers and meet required sales quotas.
