Commercial Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Apprentice in the Socal/Orange County Area, CA. There's never been a more exciting time to join our team! We are in an accelerated growth phase in a rapidly expanding industry and are seeking motivated, self-driven individuals looking for a long-term position in the fire protection industryThe Sprinkler Apprentice assists in the installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems under the supervision of experienced technicians. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop hands-on skills in the fire protection industry while working toward certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the installation of fire sprinkler systems, including piping, fittings, valves, and hangers
- Support inspections, testing, and maintenance of existing systems
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and construction drawings
- Measure, cut, and thread pipe using hand and power tools
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Transport materials and equipment to job sites
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
- Complete required training and apprenticeship program coursework
Skills/Qualifications:
- Interest in construction, mechanical systems, or fire protection
- Install a variety of Sprinkler Systems (Wet, Dry, Deluge, Pre-action, Fire Pumps) per blueprints, specifications and building codes
- Install valves, devices and trim for system risers, alarm valves, dry pipe valves, Pre-action valves, and Backflow Prevention devices
- Installs sprinkler heads for a wide range of applications per blueprint and knowledge of applicable sprinkler codes
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools (or willingness to learn)
- Be knowledgeable and adhere to all OSHA and CFP’s Safety Standards
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
- Ability to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service, strong organization skills, and positive attitude
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements
- Pass a pre-employment background check
- Perform other duties as assigned
