Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team within a fast-growing company operating across the wholesale, retail, and construction sectors.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, and bookkeeping responsibilities, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors, and maintaining financial records.
This role requires proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, data entry, and payment processing.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Assist in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
- Maintain vendor relationships and respond to inquiries regarding payments and account status.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies related to accounts payable.
- Conduct analysis of financial data to identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Support audit processes by providing necessary documentation and reports related to accounts payable activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in accounts payable or corporate accounting roles.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software
- Familiarity with payroll management systems and HRIS platforms is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in data entry and account reconciliation tasks.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced open plan office environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with vendors and internal teams.
