Job Summary:

As an Project Manager/Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately evaluating project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive estimates for commercial and institutional construction projects. Scopes include both interior and exterior light and heavy gauge framing, light gauge trusses, drywall hanging, finishing and texturing, exterior cladding, acoustical and specialty ceilings, insulation, stucco, and EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems).

Duties and essential job functions:

• Analyze drawings, project specifications, and scope narratives to prepare comprehensive and complete cost estimates.
• Evaluate pre-construction contracts, budgets, schedules, & project requirements.

· Quantify material and labor requirements for scopes of work.

· Understand unit pricing and production rates based on historical data and current market trends.

· Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes an ensure they meet project specifications.

· Prepare detailed takeoffs and pricing using estimating software.

· Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors during the preconstruction and value engineering phases.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and logistical considerations.

· Prepare bid packages and proposal presentations for the client.

· Document & maintain post-bid feedback and bid results.

• Other job duties and responsibilities as needed.

Minimum qualifications

• 3 years of experience of proven success in estimating and/or project management of commercial construction projects for the listed scopes of work.
• Must be proficient in OST/Quick Bid takeoff and estimating software, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Smartsheet.
• Able to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to customers and team members.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Management, co-workers, and customers.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and goals.
• Analyze information and evaluate problems.
• Willingness to travel and meet with clients.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Experience with project management or field supervision in drywall/framing trade is a plus.
• Familiarity with LEED and sustainable building practices.
