What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Auditor I position at Commerce City?
General Purpose
Under direct supervision, performs professional Sales and Use Tax Compliance Audits, issues tax assessments, and collects unpaid taxes. Educates taxpayers on tax obligations and methodologies for improved compliance. Incumbents in this class should possess a general understanding of accounting practices and procedures as well as pertinent tax laws and audit standards. Incumbents in this class typically have intermediate to entry-level related work experience and may be considered to be in a training capacity for the first six months.
Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License. An equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
