Position Overview
The Regional Quality Improvement Nurse (QI Nurse) acts as a clinical liaison, mentor, and regulatory resource to assigned long term facilities. This position is responsible for promoting high-quality resident care, improving clinical outcomes, and supporting regulatory compliance through ongoing coaching, training, and quality assurance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Support:
- Serve as a clinical liaison to assigned SNFs, maintaining open communication with facility leadership.
- Coach and mentor Directors of Nursing (DONs) and clinical leaders to achieve high-quality outcomes.
- Provide orientation and transition support to new DONs and administrators.
- Communicate with the Director of Clinical Operations on assignments, updates, and emerging concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by VP.
Training & Development:
- Coordinate training initiatives in collaboration with the corporate office.
- Provide guidance on the RAI process, MDS documentation, and care planning best practices.
- Lead and participate in DON meetings and special project workgroups.
Quality Improvement:
- Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs, including risk management, survey readiness, and resident satisfaction.
- Conduct routine field visits for evaluation, support, and regulatory compliance coaching.
- Assist facilities in problem-solving, performance improvement plans, and resource optimization.
Policy & Compliance:
- Stay current on federal and state regulations and communicate updates effectively.
- Support policy development and procedural updates to ensure regulatory alignment.
- Provide written communication to corporate as needed and participate in disaster preparedness activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN license in the state of Louisiana.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in long-term care, with preferred experience as a Director of Nursing or Administrative Role.
- Strong background in geriatric and restorative nursing.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (overnight travel required).
- Must meet eligibility to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs.
- TB screening required upon hire and annually.
- Regulatory experience is Advantageous
