What You Bring to the Table:
Essential Qualifications:
- Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste.
- Reviews food menus and work orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared and to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparation.
- Preps, measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes.
- Assists driver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery.
- Portions and arrange food and distribute to waitstaff to be served.
- Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
- Labels and dates all food items in accordance with food storage chart.
- Receives, checks-in, dates and stocks deliveries in appropriate areas.
- Ensure food products are cooked and served in compliance with State of Louisiana Department of Health sanitation standards.
- Performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook.
- Interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with the CommCare Corporation mission and core values.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
- One year of experience as a line cook, prep cook or breakfast cook in a food service setting and experience working with seniors is preferred but not required.
- 18 years of age or over.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
