The Commercial Roofing Estimator Responsibilities include:
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimates.
- Identify and bid all appropriate projects, including determining overall pricing for time and materials.
- Calculate cost estimates for time and material.
- Solicit material quotes from manufacturers and suppliers.
- Attend pre-bid/construction meetings and work closely with Superintendent to ensure job details are followed.
- Manage project materials and supplies, and work with Superintendent on crew needs.
- Ensure jobs are completed within the allocated time frame and budget.
- Maintain effective relationships with current customers that lead to increased sales and revenue.
- Stay abreast of design requirements, applicable codes, material options, and optimal systems
- Maintain awareness of external competition and the commercial industry landscape as well as opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards
- Other duties as assigned.
Commercial Roofing Sales Estimator qualifications include:
- 3 years minimum experience in commercial roof estimating and/or project management
- Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and industry codes and standards
- Strong knowledge of single ply, built-up (asphalt and coal tar pitch), modified bitumen, sheet metal, coating systems and standing seam metal roofing systems.
- Ability to read/interpret architectural plans and specifications.
- Strong computer skills, including expertise with Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have a positive and self-driven attitude.
- Not afraid of heights!
- Must be able to work in the US, provide a clear drug and background report.
