Position Summary
The Rebar Fabrication / Fab Shop Employee is responsible for assisting with the fabrication, handling, organization, and preparation of reinforcing steel and materials in a shop environment. This position requires a strong work ethic, dependability, attention to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Schedule
- 40 hours per week
- Must be willing and available to work overtime and weekends as needed based on workload and project requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Tie and assemble reinforcing steel (rebar) according to project specifications.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials throughout the fabrication shop.
- Assist with general fabrication shop duties and material handling.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly organize and maintain shop materials and equipment.
- Complete, maintain, and organize required paperwork and documentation.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform additional duties and general labor tasks as needed to support shop operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to safely perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, and handling materials.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and assist wherever needed.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
- Previous rebar, fabrication, construction, forklift, or crane experience is preferred but not required.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
