Summary of Role
The Lead Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting production operations by ensuring the accurate, timely flow of materials, components, and inventory throughout the facility. This role serves as the primary point of coordination for material handling activities, including work order fulfillment, inventory control, and warehouse organization. The Lead Material Handler helps prioritize daily work, resolve issues that could impact production, and maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and organization. This role partners closely with production, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure materials are available when and where they are needed, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
How You’ll Succeed
-Demonstrate a solid understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and how they support production and assembly processes.
-Demonstrate a solid understanding of work orders and assembly builds, including how they are created and executed.
-Pick and process orders accurately and efficiently to meet production needs.
-Ensure all documentation, paperwork, and bin transfers are completed daily and with a high level of accuracy.
-Support inventory management by completing and overseeing daily cycle counts.
-Maintain a clean, organized, and functional warehouse environment.
-Communicate effectively with internal teams to provide timely updates on materials, orders, and any issues impacting production.
What You Bring
-High School Diploma or higher
-5 years of experience in material handling or warehouse operations in a lead or senior capacity.
-Working knowledge of Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, and assembly processes.
-Experience using ERP systems, shipping software, and basic computer applications.
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in inventory and documentation.
-Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and internal stakeholders.
-Ability to prioritize work, stay organized, and support shifting production needs.
