What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Apprentice position at Comfort Zone LLC?
An HVAC apprentice assists experienced technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. On-the-job training hours to complete state journeyman licensing requirements will be provided and tracked by the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Technicians: Help journeyman and lead technicians with system installations.
- Tool & Parts Prep: Prepare the job site, organize materials, collect parts from supply houses, and clean up after the job is completed.
- System Testing: Learn to use diagnostic equipment and tools to test systems for leaks and electrical faults.
- Documentation: Fill out work orders, track inventory, and record labor hours under supervisor guidance.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: A high school diploma or GED is required. Enrollment in or completion of vocational/trade school is preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined or extreme temperature environments.
- Licensing: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory to drive company vehicles.
- Certifications: EPA 608 Certification required to handle refrigerants. Trade school or similar certification is preferred.
- Character: high integrity and good social skills are required to ensure cohesive teamwork and customer satisfaction
