We are currently looking for a Production Material Handler!
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient movement and organization of materials within the shop and production areas, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to production schedules. This role requires close collaboration with production supervisors and a keen attention to detail. The Individual will report directly to the Supervisor of Shipping and Receiving.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently transport materials into the shop and distribute them to designated production areas.
- Facilitate the movement of materials from Fitters to Welders as required.
- Operate machinery (Forklift) to load materials onto saws, plasma pipe cutters and groover machines.
- Relocate completed materials to the yard.
- Band, palletize, package and label finished products.
- Accurately track time by clocking into the appropriate job numbers.
- Dismantle and remove boxes, pallets, and crates from production areas.
- Collaborate closely with production supervisors to stay informed about daily production schedules.
- Organize and segregate materials per job, preparing them for production.
- Bring in materials as needed/requested, ensuring only the necessary amount is brought in for same-day or next-day production.
- Maintain a clutter-free shop and yard environment
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) standards are met throughout the production process.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift certification: 5 years experience is desirable.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment.
- Physical stamina to meet the demands of the job.
