Summary
The Director of Project Management Processes and Training is responsible for day-to-day performance and execution of duties by Sr Project Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers. Assist VP of Construction in finding ways to constantly improve performance of operations team. This position is also responsible for development, planning, and assist in the execution of Training programs for all Construction Operations positions and any/all other departments as/when needed. Work with the Director of Construction Management and Engineering and the Field Operation Manager to improve customer relationships with timely resolutions as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Sr Project Managers (Sr PM), Project Managers (PM), Asst Project Managers (APM), Project Engineers (PE)
- Signature rights
- None (Ex. Change Orders, Subcontract Agreements) Copy VP of Construction on all documents once complete
- Train direct reports in daily tasks and SOP’s. Including but not limited to discipline to processes and procedures; meetings, paperwork, Procore, projections, monthly reports, RFIs, etc.
- Work closely with the Director of Construction Management and Engineering on all customer relation issues and project concerns and ensure any issues or request is followed through on in a timely manner.
- Plan and schedule weekly training meeting to ensure execution of all details of job loop (Included with weekly projection review).
- Lead weekly Projection Update Meeting to review status of all projects and advise or address any issues. (VP of Construction to attend this meeting as often as possible).
- Leverage our pre-fabrication and manufacturing capabilities to drive productivity, decrease cost and improve quality.
- Review CSP monthly with each Sr PM or PM to ensure accuracy of costs to complete prior to the actual projection meeting reporting to President and CFO.
- Train each Sr PM or PM on proper procedure to complete CSP and monthly report summary required for all projects $1mil and over and/or any others that may warrant this report (long duration, high risk, etc.)
- Work with Sr PM or PM to resolve project issues, specific to internal procedures primarily and help with any other issues as needed.
- Work with Sr PM or PM to lead the efforts needed to qualify projects at 10% Qualification Process.
- Review project buyouts to increase margin with Sr PM or PM
- Attend head start, qualification, constructability meetings, 30%, 60%, 90% and closeout meetings as often as possible. Ensure correct training to execute them for enhanced performance on our projects.
- Work with VP Construction to suggestion and help set policy for the Department.
- Work with VP Construction to plan the Training Portion of the Monthly Operations meetings and assist as needed in other aspects of the monthly training.
- Attend monthly projection meetings.
- Review with VP Construction measures needed to mitigate project fades.
- Train and perform orientation of new Sr PM, PM, APM and/or PE as needed.
- Attend contract review meetings to expedite contract execution.
- Review and ensure that Sr PMs and PMs are writing language for issuing purchase orders and subcontracts with proper language to protect us and our trade partners.
- Be familiar with COINS and report options needed to perform duties for all direct reports.
- Be sure Sr PMs and PMs are maximizing change orders.
- Be sure Sr PM’s and PMs are documenting schedule delays or changes as required by contract documents. Make sure each project team is aware of their project requirements.
- Be sure Project Team Members are attending BIM meetings.
- Inform VP Construction of any safety, Liability, delay claims potentially being filed against company.
- Assess need for any additional Sr PMs, PM’s, APM’s, PE’s or need to reduce size of group.
- Work with VP of Construction to assign projects to Sr PMs and PMs (and therefore team) based on skill and project fit, back log of current workloads, etc.
- Work with VP of Construction and Operations Support Manager to band effectiveness of project team leaders, (Sr PMs, PMs, APMs, PEs & Sr PC and PCs)
- Perform quarterly reviews for Sr PMs, PMs, APMs and PE’s. Consult with VP Construction prior to review, especially when there is a potential wage increase.
- Learn and ensure that Procore is utilized by Sr PM, PM, APM and PE for all document control, communication, RFIs, Submittals, Procurement Log, Schedule Impacts, O&Ms, etc. This will be our standard platform and needs to be maintained and accurate.
- Coordinate, schedule and track all Head start, Constructability, % Complete and Closeout meetings with the attached proven method ACCOUNTABILITY BOARD.xlsx –
- Work with Director of Operations to develop goals for Project Managers for PE training.
- Develop onboarding schedule per position.
- Assist and support on all GMP Billings, back up and financials as needed.
- Manage Field Bonus program (based on 10% Qualification approval)
