Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment
- Handle various cleaning agents safely, adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical handling protocols to ensure a safe environment
- Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and janitorial tools to maintain high sanitation standards
- Manage laundry operations including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and guest clothing with precision and care
- Ensure floors are properly cared for through sweeping, mopping, polishing, and applying appropriate floor care procedures
- Set up and serve breakfast offerings with enthusiasm, ensuring presentation quality and guest satisfaction
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly when needed to maintain safety for guests and staff
Requirements
- Prior experience in hotel housekeeping or janitorial services is highly preferred; familiarity with industrial cleaning is a plus
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and the use of cleaning equipment
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely according to SDS guidelines and handle heavy lifting safely during cleaning or laundry tasks
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude that enhances guest experiences
- Manual handling skills necessary for moving furniture or heavy items during cleaning or setup tasks
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to respond effectively in urgent situations
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards consistently
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
