Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Guest Service Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive experience. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently handle various tasks.
Responsibilities
- Guest check-in and check-out: Welcome guests, verify registration information, and provide room keys
- Guest services: Answer questions, provide information about hotel services and amenities, and make recommendations for dining and entertainment
- Reservations: Book and register rooms, manage reservations and cancellations, and make room adjustments
- Payments: Process payments, handle cash, and prepare room bills
- Guest information: Maintain guest records and accounts, and keep hotel data confidential
- Hotel operations: Coordinate with other hotel departments, arrange maintenance repairs, and stock supplies as needed
- Guest issues: Resolve guest complaints and concerns, and follow up with guests after issues are resolved
- Front desk area: Keep the front desk area tidy and organized. Ensure that all areas of the front desk are clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Software: Use hotel management software for check-ins, check-outs, and guest information
Experience
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require patience, tact, and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to engage with diverse clientele.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
